A Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems on ships.The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, follow technical instructions, and adhere to strict safety regulations. Essential Functions: • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and design plans. • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to specified dimensions. • Align, position, and secure pipes before installation. • Inspect piping systems for leaks, defects, and compliance with standards. • Perform repairs and modifications on existing piping systems. • Follow all safety protocols and shipyard procedures. • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines. • Provide progress updates to supervisors as required. • Stay current with pipefitting techniques, tools, and industry best practices. Requirements: • Experience as a pipefitter in shipbuilding, industrial, or construction environments. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. • Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipes. • Knowledge of pipe materials, fittings, and installation techniques. • Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and shipyard safety protocols. • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and under various weather conditions. • Basic math and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. See More Details >>Job Summary • Purpose: This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in iron fabrication, including measuring, cutting, fitting and installing structural/pipe plate, pipe material, beams, plate, pipe etc. Responsibilities: • Study engineering drawings to determine materials requirements and task sequences. • Measure, cut, fit and install structural/pipe plate, pipe material, beams, plate, pipe etc. • Straighten warped or bent parts using sledges, hand torches and straightening procedures. • Follow fitting procedures and principles used in fabricating offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities etc. • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses and hand tools. • Lays out and installs piping, equipment and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications. • Inspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.
