What You Will Be Doing • Be a key member of the Sky Climber Renewables field workforce • Travel 100% on a rotational basis to wind projects throughout the U.S. • Perform LOTO procedures for Nordex Acciona wind turbines in support of blade or mechanical/electrical service operations • Conduct inspections, maintenance and repair of equipment • Climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet • Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds) • Follow specific verbal and written instructions to perform multi-brand wind turbine generator and associated equipment assembly, repair, replacement and maintenance • Complete and maintain required company and client documentation • Effectively prioritize and escalate technical issues to clients and supporting functions • Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work areas as required • Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the Sky Climber Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements (eg, Valid License, acceptable driving record) • Be exposed to high and low ambient temperatures while working outdoors • Maintain required training certifications for position held, including, not limited to: OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, CPR/AED, First Aid, Basic Safety, Basic Technical, Advanced Rescue • Perform other daily work requirements as directed by supervisors • Note: For safety compliance, wind technicians must weigh between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing, boots and standard personal equipment What Knowledge, Skills & Training You Will Bring • Nordex Acciona LOTO and maintenance experience • GWO (BST, BTT, ART) Certifications preferred • Twelve (12) months of wind industry technical experience preferred • Understanding of basic AC/DC circuits • Ability to verify basic electrical connections and schematics • Work that meets customer and company standards required of position and job, including following project schedules and Quality, Safety and Environment standards • Willingness to follow OSHA, client and company policies at all times • A professional appearance and positive attitude • Behavior demonstrating integrity and respect for fellow employees, clients and communities • Willingness and ability to work cooperatively or independently • Proactive communication (up and down) • Ability to produce reports, work order documents, and records, written neatly, legibly and completed correctly • Ability to work in a high-volume, multi-priority environments • Knowledge and basic skills operating various hand and power tools • Willingness and ability to work indoors or outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including blowing pollen, dust, and grasses • Ability to pass background check(s) and drug screening • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Additional Information - We Take Care of Our People As an international organization, diversity drives our identity. The Specialist in this role will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing faults by both doing the work himself and/or directing other technicians. Support also entails performing root cause analysis, and documenting findings. The Specialist will manage and resolve outages associated with battery pack controller, string controller, string balancing, low cell voltage, HVAC, environmental controls and fire protection system. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of the Powin Stack 230 and Stack750/Centipede systems. It is expected of the Specialist to expand their knowledge to include other LRE BESS technologies including Sungrow and Fractal. The Specialist will contribute to planning and executing capacity tests and round-trip efficiency tests as required by PPA agreements. He will be directly responsible for, or directing other technicians in installation and testing new BESS stacks as part of augmentation or repairs. This position requires travel to site and oversee and train on-site staff. The specialist must have a demonstrated ability to resolve technical problems, document work instructions, communicate and manage resources effectively as well as deliver complex and time sensitive assignments in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions • Remote monitoring of BESS plants • Provide BESS tech support, and be on-call to support OCC and on-site personnel • Review alarms, identify and troubleshoot outages • Engage and direct field technicians. Travel on site when necessary. • Perform root cause analysis and/or validates contractor root cause analysis • Document work instructions, SOP's, fault conditions and trouble resolution. • Train and mentor on-site technicians • Plant onboarding support: review documents from construction.
