Welders are responsible for welding and fabricating heavy metal components by hand or flame-cutting equipment according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SAW (submerged arc welding) welding techniques and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Reading and understanding blueprints and drawings • Setup parts • Weld, cut, grind, and run production of large gears • Assembly and disassembly • Self-inspect and ensure welds meet quality standards • Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment • Load/unload and monitor oven • Operating overhead cranes and forklifts Qualifications • Certified welders are but not required • Welding experience (Arc, Tig, Mig) required • Ability to lift 50 pounds as required without assistance This position can be exposed to heat, cold, fumes or airborne particles, debris such as metal shavings, loud noise, vibration and moving mechanical parts. Protective gear such as earplugs, safety glasses, steel toe footwear, and gloves are required. The physical demands of this position include vision, hearing, manual dexterity, standing or walking for long periods, reaching, bending, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
