Key Responsibilities Shop Floor & Welding Support • Assist welders and fabricators with part preparation, fit-up, and assembly. • Perform cutting, grinding, and material prep using shop tools and cutting equipment (plasma, oxy-fuel, saws). • Set up and maintain welding workstations, fixtures, and tools. • Move, organize, and stage raw material for upcoming jobs. • Support welders in tacking, clamping, and positioning materials for production. • Perform light welding tasks under supervision, following established procedures. General Manufacturing Support • Assist shop floor personnel with lifting, staging, and moving parts to different departments. • Work closely with machinists, assembly teams, and welders to ensure smooth production flow. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of welding areas, ensuring compliance with 5S and safety standards. • Handle basic inspection of weld prep and assist quality team with part documentation. Qualifications • Prior experience in welding, cutting, or shop support preferred, but training will be provided. • Familiarity with MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes is a plus. • Ability to safely use shop equipment (grinders, saws, plasma cutters, hand tools). • Willingness to learn and follow welding procedures, including government and military standards. • Ability to read basic shop drawings or willingness to be trained. • Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork mentality. • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and perform manual labor in a shop environment. • Safety-first mindset with commitment to following OSHA and company safety procedures.
