Welder - 1st Shift Location Columbus, Ohio, United States Date posted May 14, 2025 Job ID 19388 Our Opening and Your Responsibilities Mettler Toledo's Producing Organization is currently hiring a 1st Welders to work from production orders, routings, blueprints and process documentation to appropriately layout, fit, and weld fabricated materials to create a formed structure. You will also inspect the structure for acceptable finish (material, fit, and weld quality), confirm product in the MRP system when necessary, and deliver product to the next internal/external customer. Within this role, you will be responsible for: • Laying out, fitting, and welding materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blue prints, and other documents related to the Engineering/Customer specification. • Accurately entering data into the MRP (e.g. SAP) system and ensuring that inventory is accurately stated. • Maintaining accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets. • Maintaining all welding equipment used in the department. • Safely operating fork trucks and cranes. • Maintaining quality throughout the welding process. • Lifting 50-100 pounds on a frequent basis. What You Need to Succeed • A High School Diploma with excellent math and reading/writing ability. • The ability to obtain your fork-lift / crane certification. • Experience with MIG, flux core, and submersed arc welding. • Experience with cutting torches, grinders, sanders, and cutting wheels. • Experience reading blueprints. • The ability to operate welding equipment and read/interpret standard American Welding Society symbols. • The ability to perform quality inspections based on set expectations. • Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office.
