Triangle is located in Morganton, North Carolina and services a wide range of customers throughout Central and Western North Carolina. We are currently looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Shop Foreman/Fabricator. Sheet Metal Shop Foreman/Fabricator Responsibilities include creating, assembling, and installing products made from metal sheets, such as ducts, fittings, or structural components used in industries like HVAC, construction, and manufacturing. Job Summary: The Sheet Metal Fabricator fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal products and equipment. This role involves working with various metals (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel) to produce components according to blueprints, specifications, or technical drawings. The fabricator ensures high-quality craftsmanship, precision, and adherence to safety standards. Key Responsibilities: • Fabrication: Cut, bend, shape, and form sheet metal using tools like shears, brakes, presses, and CNC machines to create parts or products based on technical drawings or specifications. • Assembly: Assemble metal components using welding, riveting, bolting, or soldering techniques to construct finished products or structures. • Measurement and Layout: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or CAD drawings to measure, mark, and lay out materials accurately. • Tool Operation: Operate manual and automated machinery, including plasma cutters, laser cutters, punch presses, and forming equipment, ensuring proper setup and maintenance. • Installation: Install fabricated metal components on-site, such as ductwork for HVAC systems, roofing panels, or structural frameworks, following safety protocols. • Quality Control: Inspect finished products for accuracy, alignment, and compliance with specifications, adjusting or repairing as needed. • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. • Collaboration: Work with engineers, designers, and other tradespeople to refine designs, troubleshoot issues, and complete projects efficiently. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials and tools. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in sheet metal fabrication, welding, or a related field is preferred. • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or a similar role. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, tape measures), and operating fabrication equipment (e.g., CNC machines, press brakes). • Welding Skills: Knowledge of welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, spot welding). • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.), stand for long periods. • Attention to Detail: Precision measurements, cuts, and assembly to ensure high-quality output. • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues and adapt to design changes. • Certifications: Certifications in welding (e.g., AWS certification) or CNC operation preferred. • Schedule: Full-time, typically 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime during project deadlines. • Physical Demands: Requires standing, bending, climbing, and lifting heavy materials.
