Triangle Contractors is currently seeking a Lead HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic for projects located in Hickory, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with sheet metal, demonstrating proficiency in fabricating, assembling, and installing metal products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all work performed, while adhering to safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities • Interpret and utilize blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products and HVAC systems • Measure, mark, and lay out materials using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators, and squares • Cut, shape, and install commercial ductwork, including VAVs, strapping/hanging duct, and Unistrut • Operate duct-jacks and other specialized equipment for HVAC installation • Fasten joints and seams using solder, welds, caulk, bolts, and metal driver clips to ensure durable and safe connections • Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file, and grind metal surfaces for a seamless finish • Select appropriate types and gauges of sheet metal based on project specifications • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all fabrication and installation activities • Ensure efficiency and quality throughout all phases of HVAC system installation • Support mechanical tasks and assist team members as needed • Lead and delegate tasks for crew members Qualifications • Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic. • Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques and tools. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. • Ability to plan daily tasks and communicate objectives to coworkers Job type: Full-time Compensation & Benefits • Competitive pay based on experience • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance • Company-paid life and long-term disability insurance • Short-term and long-term disability coverage • 401(k) with company match • Paid Time Off: 1 week after 90 days; more based on tenure • Career growth and training opportunities We invite you to apply and join a team dedicated to craftsmanship, integrity, and meaningful work!
