About the position Responsibilities • Fabricate, install, and repair various types of sheet metal components, including ducts, fittings, and vents, according to project specifications. • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements of HVAC and sheet metal systems. • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, diagnosing issues and performing necessary repairs or adjustments. • Assemble, install, and secure HVAC ductwork, components, and sheet metal assemblies according to design and safety standards. • Properly maintain and handle all tools and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and sheet metal systems. Requirements • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and HVAC system installation/repair. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and HVAC schematics. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding conditions (standing, bending, climbing). • Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and on ladders/scaffolding. Foreman

Job Summary The Foreman has supervisory responsibility for the crew assigned and managerial responsibility for the projects completed by the crew. The Foreman must ensure the crew is completing the project as per the specification, on time, and within the budget. Customer satisfaction is among the highest priorities and is achieved through the safe delivery of a quality roof and good communication. A key role for the Foreman is the development of crew personnel as world-class roofers. The Foreman duties may include, but are not limited to: • Manage the crew’s installation of a quality roof in a safe and timely manner, while maintaining job profitability. • Continually develop and train the crew. • Discipline crew members when necessary. • Maintain good customer relations, acting as a liaison between the management and the customer. • Record work performed using daily reports and report crew time accurately. • Review requisitions to determine materials needed and work with the shop to make sure all materials get to the jobsite; discuss and revise delivery schedules when needed. • Determine job-specific safety guidelines / procedures in accordance with Academy Roofing & Sheet Metal Co requirements. • Monitor jobsite inventory, assess short falls, and order additional materials in a timely manner. • Maintain company-assigned vehicle and other resources required for roof installation and safety. Requirements / Qualifications • Roofing field experience preferred, but not required. • High school education or GED required. • Current, valid driver’s license is required. • Pre-employment drug and job assessment screens are required. • Knowledge of project and personnel administration, and able to read and understand written scopes of work and shop drawings. • Completion of the Academy Roofing & Sheet Metal Co Safety Orientation mandatory; meets OSHA’s Competent Person requirements. • Ability to obtain and maintain site-specific screening and contractor training certifications. • Good reading, writing, and verbal communication and listening skills are required. Must be able to speak and / or respond to directives given in the English language. • Must possess the ability to supervise personnel while managing the outcome of their efforts. • Ability to prioritize events leading to project completion, and determine what must be done to achieve the best possible outcome for the company, customer, and team necessary. • Must be capable of the strenuous activity required to tear off, carry, and dispose of roofing material.
