Your Purpose in this Role We are one of the top premier Commercial HVAC and Plumbing Contractors in the state of Arizona. We are looking for growth-motivated and self-starting individuals who value efficiency, reliability, and family. Your job purpose as a Sheet Metal Fabricator I is to learn, assist, and assemble in our sheet metal building shop. You will help to build the sheet metal designs for HVAC projects across the valley. What you build will go into building such as, hospitals, schools, fire stations, and government buildings, for example. This is an entry-level role and does not require extensive previous experience or knowledge. Pay Starting at $20.00 - Pay Rate Determined in Interview. Your Duties and Responsibilities • Handle raw sheet metal materials. • Utilize manual and powered tools commonly employed in the sheet metal field. • Assemble fabricated parts into a final product, ensuring that all components fit together accurately and securely. • Shape the metal sheets by bending or forming them using tools like press brakes or rollers to achieve the desired angles and contours. • Problem solve issues that may arise during the fabrication process, finding practical solutions to ensure project completion. • Assist and learn from fellow sheet metal fabricators to progress in skill and knowledge. • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. • Review finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, adjusting or corrections as necessary. • Cut metal sheets into specific shapes and sizes using various tools, such as shears, and plasma cutters. • Other duties as assigned. Key Performance Objectives: • Meticulous planning and pre-planning, ensuring seamless execution. • Proficient interpretation of blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine fabrication, assembly, and installation methods for sheet metal products. • Oversight of the entire duct detailing function, from ordering and coordinating materials to inspecting for accuracy and completeness. • Effective coordination of ductwork with other trades and timely scheduling of subcontractors and equipment deliveries. • Supervision of duct, duct accessories, equipment, and related material installation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and code compliance. • Daily management responsibilities including reviewing timecards, setting installation goals, conducting safety inspections, providing direction to crews, and enforcing quality standards. Other duties may be assigned. • Setup and operate machines such as shears, cutoff saws, brakes, punch press, form roll and drill press, to cut and shape components to specified dimensions. • Forms production parts involving curvatures, sharp angles, and/or deep draws, which result in severe forming to pre-heat and hot form material as required. • Assembles, forms, fits, positions, and aligns component parts in proper relation to each other where subassemblies require precise and difficult locating. • Lays out trim lines, hole patterns, file contours and performs hand forming, riveting, bolting, clamping, dimpling and locating tack weld to build up subassemblies and assemblies. • Performs pressure testing on fabricated assemblies as required. • Setup and operates automatic and semi-automatic weld equipment, including mig, plasma arc, EB, laser, induction and resistance welding equipment as required. • Performs Setup, fit-up, trimming, position, align, clamp, bolt, and tack-weld diversified and involved structural assemblies and subassemblies. • Weld parts and/or assemblies. • Develops welding sequences, techniques and procedures as required for qualification, certification and/or making weld schedules on various types of metals.
