Job Title: Plumbing Maintenance Associate Job Summary: Vincennes University seeks a highly skilled and motivated Plumbing Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of the Physical Plant, this individual will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal on the main campus and at remote locations as needed. Responsibilities: • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors • Install new equipment and fixtures, plumbing, pipe-fitting • Repair and replacement of pumps, air compressors, steam-hot water and gas heaters, coils, etc • Maintenance and repair of steam lines, swimming pool equipment, irrigation systems, boilers, water softeners, cooling towers, etc • Responds to calls/pages on weekends, holidays, and after hours Requirements: • Must have excellent verbal communication skills and be able to work independently and with other Physical Plant personnel • Interpret and work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints; interpret schematics and follow both verbal and written instructions • Understand and follow all safety procedures and use of safety equipment relative to lockout/tagout, confined space, scaffolds, etc • Stand, bend, climb, carry, reach, handle, and use fingers 50% or more of the work day • Occasionally lift 50-100 pounds and over Benefits: • Comprehensive health and dental coverage through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield • Basic Life Policy and Retirement Plan (defined contribution 403(b)) • Optional life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, and long-term disability • Wellness Program and full use of the University Primary Care Center
