Job Title: Commercial Plumber Job Description The Commercial Plumber performs skilled technical work in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of various water systems, gas pipes, steam pipes, and fire protection systems within commercial structures. The role requires adherence to recognized plumbing procedures and techniques, as well as federal regulations regarding environmental protection and hazardous waste disposal. Responsibilities • Install, repair, replace, and maintain domestic water systems, heating water systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewers, gas pipes, steam and condensate pipes, and fire protection systems. • Use hand and power tools such as sewer auger, vacuum plunger, acetylene torch, soldering and welding equipment, sewer camera, and pipe locator. • Practice preventive maintenance of plumbing tools and equipment. • Monitor and report maintenance issues to the appropriate authority. • Perform new installations as the majority of the workload. • Collaborate with teammates to lift and maneuver heavy equipment. Essential Skills • 2+ years of commercial plumbing experience. • Proficiency in using basic hand tools and impact drivers. • Comfortable with bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting 100+ lbs. • Familiarity with blueprint reading. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Valid driver's license strongly preferred. • Experience or familiarity with heating and cooling installation or mechanical troubleshooting. • Must have own basic tool set, including channel locks, tape measurer, and hammer. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with 50+ hours per week expected due to project demands. During warmer weather, the schedule shifts to 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Meet either at the job site or at the shop to start the day. Dress code includes jeans, work boots, and a work-appropriate tee shirt, with no PPE required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pella, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
