Plumbers & Pipefitters LU 441 trains men and women for the Plumbing & Pipefitting Industry for Union Contractors in and around the State of Kansas. • All application materials must be included for the application to be submitted. You will be working for Union Contractors while you attend apprenticeship school for plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC/R & Welding. Requirements: Must provide proof of birth certificate Must provide High School transcripts or GED with scores in a sealed envelope from the issuing entity, and/or college transcripts (if applicable) Must provide proof of a valid driver's license Must be 18 by June 1, 2022. Must be able to attend classroom training in Wichita, KS once every six weeks. Must be able to pass random safety testing. Must be able to physically perform the tasks required for the maintenance and construction industries, with or without reasonable accommodation. High School Diploma or Equivalent required. See More Details >>Summary The Journeyman Plumber performs skilled technical work in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of domestic water systems, heating water systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewers, gas pipe, steam and condensate pipes and fire protection systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Maintaining safe working conditions at all time. • Regularly check systems to ensure proper operations. • Inspect toilets, sinks, dishwashers, and other appliances for leaks. • Responsible for repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures. • Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems. • Replace washers and rubber gaskets in faucets and shower heads. • Locate and repair issues with water supply lines. • Install and maintain water supply systems. • Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure. • Troubleshoot plumbing problems. • Other Duties as required or assigned by leadership team. • Demonstrate and attain CDL Core Values: SAFETY, PEOPLE, INTEGRITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, and EXCELLENCE • Demonstrate and attain CDL Core Focus: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Physical Demands • Stand, walk, bend, kneel and sit for extended periods of time. • Climb ladders to reach ceilings and other high objects. • Work from heights on elevated platforms and boom lifts. • Lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly. • Work outdoors in dusty/dirty environment. • Walk and Work on uneven surfaces (gravel, ballast rock). • Work in extreme (summer high temps, winter low temps) weather conditions.
