The Pipefitter position lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial processing systems. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently. • Overtime Available Essential Qualifications: • High school or equivalent • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level) • A-class Pipefitter requires basic knowledge of field drawings, sketches and engineering drawings • Have basic knowledge of how to connect flanged pipe connections using a cross pattern bolting technique • Be able to read and utilize a tape measure properly • Be able to understand and utilize a framing square as it is applicable to pipefitting tasks • Must know how to properly utilize power tools to prepare pipe for cutting, welding, threading and bolting • A-class pipefitters must be able to make accurate and precise weld connection fit ups • Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy • Comply with company and client job site safety requirements • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace Functional Requirements: Selects and inspects proper safety gear to be used while performing work tasks; selects size and type of pipe and related material according to job specifications; inspects worksites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that creating holes for pipe penetration will not cause structural weakness; plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers; cuts, threads, and bends pipe; assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic; joins pipe by means of threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints; secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, supports and hangers; installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping; tests piping system for leaks; utilizes a variety of power tools including but not limited to, electric, pneumatic, and battery powered; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction Compensation Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Now Hiring: Marine Pipefitter/Outfitter Location: Philadelphia, PA Long-Term Project Wages: $26.00 Per Hour $150.00 Per Diem Offered, if eligible. Job Description We’re seeking an experienced Pipefitter Field Supervisor to lead crews in installing large industrial refrigeration systems nationwide. This role involves supervising pipefitters and welders, interpreting blueprints/flow diagrams, ensuring quality per IIAR standards, and coordinating subcontractors for successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities • Supervise and support construction crews & subcontractors. • Read and interpret blueprints, flow diagrams, and IIAR piping standards. • Perform quality checks, maintain as-built drawings, and order materials. • Ensure compliance with RD&S, OSHA, and client safety protocols. • Travel to job sites (up to 10 days at a time).
