POSITION SUMMARY: Installation and maintenance of natural gas pipeline Responsibilities • Responsible for digging trenches, installing sewer, water and natural gas pipelines; and backfilling excavations with asphalt on road • Responsible for entering and exiting excavations varying in depth from 2’to 5’ • Shovel dirt, rake dirt or hot asphalt, jackhammer roadways or sidewalks, jackhammer concrete • Carry materials or equipment to and from the truck to a jobsite • Use of a chop saw to cut concrete, use of a hammer drill to core through concrete foundations, entering basements or crawlspaces to perform necessary pipefitting or meter service work • Use of a pneumatic rammer for excavation compaction • Perform basic pipe fitting with pipe sizes from ½” to 2” • Tapping and stopping off water or gas service tees from the main line, in addition to numerous push / pull activities associated to underground construction work • Operation of a backhoe, excavator, or any heavy equipment to aid in the construction process. • Additional safety sensitive duties as required Competencies • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Ability to operate a variety of simple and complex tools • Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. • Excellent customer service skills • Heavy construction equipment experiences highly desirable. • Must have a valid Driver's License.
