Description Tradesmen International is looking to expand our team of qualified Trade Professionals for current & future projects in and around Columbia, MO . These are mainly first shift opportunities with a pay rate of $30-35/hour dependent on experience & skill level. MTS PIPEFITTER (Union Eligible)

About the position Responsibilities • Install, repair, and maintain water, air, vacuum, gas, hot water, distilled water, acid, and chemical distribution lines and systems. • Cut, thread, and join pipe; operate all necessary tools for the trade. • Perform soldering, brazing, acetylene, and electric cutting and welding as needed. • Insulate and paint lines and equipment as required. • Drill holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for installation purposes. • Handle material and equipment related to job tasks. • Inspect, test, service, and maintain water softening equipment as necessary. • Prepare cost estimates, material orders, and maintain records and reports. • Observe and enforce all safety requirements related to equipment operation. • Occasionally perform duties outside the primary trade area as needed. • Operate a backhoe and other construction equipment when required. Requirements • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Four years of actual work experience and training in the trade, which may include apprenticeship or vocational training. • Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, and plumbing diagrams. • Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment, and materials of the applicable trade. • Physical ability to grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and use small to large trades tools and equipment. • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (50-80 lbs.) and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and working from scaffolding. Nice-to-haves • Experience with specialized installations in steam and condensate systems. • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in construction and maintenance work.
