What is required and / or expected: • Minimum 3 years’ experience at Journeyman (this is non-negotiable) Pipefitter. • Selecting type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications, knowledge of system operation, and study of building plans / working drawings • Planning sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and cutting pipe. • Threading and ending pipe by hand or with pipe bending machine. • Assembling and joining piping by means of threaded, chalked, wiped, soldered, brazed fused, or cemented joints. • Securing pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers, using hand tools • Testing piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges. • Perform mechanical repairs as required. Examples include metal fabrication. • Must be proficient in basic rigging and working with mechanical tools. • Must be able to read blueprints, AutoCAD a plus. • Able to lift 50lbs, including motors, pumps, pipes, valves, etc. • Able to climb and work in high places (cherry picker, ladders, man lifts, etc.) • Available for Overtime, nights and weekends as needed. • Must be willing and able to maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment. The following description of duties and responsibilities does not entitle a Pipefitter Mechanic working under this job description rights to perform any of the following duties, as work performed by the pipefitter will be determined/assigned by the Pipefitter’s immediate supervisor and/or the Engineering Department. • Equipment Maintenance - Provide the highest level of support possible to production facilities with an intent of achieving superior equipment effectiveness as related to process and process support equipment. • Design and Engineering Support - Provide the highest level of support possible to Engineering and design resources. • Help document and develop standards for: ▪ Installing equipment and components ▪ Selecting standard piping & pneumatic components across the site ▪ Trade safety ▪ Preventive and predictive maintenance • Replacing obsolete or substandard components. Must have a thorough understanding and good working knowledge of pressure and mechanical codes as relates to vessels, piping, combustion, weights and measures. • Installs, calibrates, repairs and services pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical types of instruments, scales and control; including integrated controls and related systems. • Must be able to obtain adjustments within the specified tolerances. • Performs testing as required and directed. • Maintains working knowledge of the proper and effective lubrication of valves, cylinders, gears, weights and interacting mechanical components. • Identify necessary human and materials resources required to complete tasks. • Develop a job plan for the work orders. • Must obtain and apply an adequate working knowledge of the process and energy systems in the plant; must be able to correct malfunctions rapidly and without error or endangerment to production, people or quality of product. • Instructs operating personnel as to proper care and operation of control equipment. As required, directs and leads other personnel assigned to the job, and provides assistance to engineers and technical personnel as directed. • Repair and inspect any steam, gas, air, hydraulic, water process piping, drain piping, and equipment in the plant. • Must be able to install rigging and hoisting for related equipment items. • Provide training to others and help identify training needs. • Reliability duties assigned to drive continuous improvement. • Drive continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility. • Attend RCA meetings as needed. • Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements The following physical demands are necessary for the Pipe fitter to perform daily duties. It would not be practical or feasible to eliminate these requirements. • Shall be able to safely climb stairs, scaffolds and ladder steps. • Shall be able to safely work from high surfaces. • Shall be able to safely utilize proper fall protection equipment. • Shall be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds while maintaining balance. • Shall be able to safely crawl over and/or under equipment. • Shall be able to safely perform job duties in extreme varying temperatures. • Shall be able to safely and skillfully use trade related to Job Qualifications • Have the ability to perform all duties with a minimum amount of supervision. • Have complete knowledge of, and perform all duties in compliance with, the most current revision of plant safety, sanitation and working rules. • Have complete knowledge of and current Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) certification for, Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid (FA). To be considered current training must be successfully completed per requirements ECC guidelines. • Have complete knowledge of appropriate application and utilization of personal protective equipment specific to the trade. • Have complete knowledge of appropriate application, utilization and care of equipment and/or tools used in the trade. • Have solid knowledge of, and proficiency in mathematical functions used in the trade. • Use interpersonal skills to interact and work with others across the organization and in cross-functional teams. • Have a strong knowledge of current technology, and desire to expand upon that knowledge as related to the trade. • Willingness to participate in, or facilitate, trade related training as directed. • Successful completion of High School education program or equivalent state certification. • Successful Journeyman Apprenticeship or > 8000 hours documented in the field. • Have a strong understanding of Computer Systems operating on a window platform

Pipe Fitter

You will be demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment, such as: mechanical systems, pneumatics, drives, hydraulics, valves, gear boxes, and conveyance systems. You will be responsible for responding to equipment break downs in a timely manner. You will be responsible for utilizing basic hand tools and industrial shop equipment to perform job assignments. You will also be effectively using various kinds of pumps, rotating and reciprocating masses, fasteners, and fabrication methods. You will be utilizing your basic knowledge of using electronic and electro-mechanical devices such as: solenoid valves sensors, thermocouples, RTDs, relays and contractors to complete projects.
