We have an immediate need for a highly motivated, safety-conscious Pipefitter for a short-term project. The Pipefitter’s primary responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, and repair of all gas-fired equipment and piping systems. This will be accomplished through the ability to review and interpret blueprints and other diagrams to understand requirements. The Pipefitter must possess technical knowledge of how to properly fit pipe and identify the right type for the job. The ability to troubleshoot and identify corrective actions on-site is an asset. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment. Project Details 12-hour day and night shifts Located on mine site in the Esterhazy Saskatchewan area LOA and mileage: available for eligible employees Duties & Responsibilities Fit various types of pipes properly Use pipe fitting tools for cutting and attaching pipe to different materials Read designs, diagrams, or blueprints and know exactly what type of pipe is required for the job Test, maintain, and repair pipe systems Required Education, Experience, & Skills Must provide proof of Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification Experience in cutting, fitting, attaching various pipe materials Experience in high-quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of pipe systems Knowledge of piping systems relating to bolt-up of fittings and valves as well as measuring threading and cutting Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required Must have excellent dexterity and precision in movement Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol Attention to detail Ability to follow instructions Ability to use judgement and apply discretion when making decisions Ability to work alone and in a team environment Strong time-management skills What We Offer Competitive wage based on experience Employee group benefits including health, dental, life insurance, & AD&D Matching company RSP contributions Support in your career development aspirations FORTIS MINING, ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING Our diverse Group of Companies consists of Northern Strands, Fortis Mining Engineering & Manufacturing, and Certified Sales & Rentals comprising 14 divisions ranging from rigging/lifting products, fall protection, suspended access, agri-business field services and safety training to mining site services, fabrication, rentals, repairs, testing and recertification.
