Responsibilities • Material quantity takeoffs for ordering, purchasing, and estimating • Scheduling of various crew activities and subcontractors • Records management, including costs, progress, materials, and equipment • Various safety enforcement and implementation tasks • Project reports related to traffic control, erosion control, pollution control, etc. • Problem investigation and solving by using various engineering practices • Produce field drawings & calculated elevations, stations, and offsets from contract plans • Basic surveying activities to establish line and elevations in the field • Begin, follow, and complete shop drawing and submittal process to the owner/agencies • Work with Project Manager and Superintendent, and help support the field foremen Requirements: • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or similar discipline • 4 years related experience in heavy civil construction including bridges, highway, transit and rail a plus • Strong understanding of field operations and an aptitude for building complex projects • Commitment to getting things done; effectively and efficiently • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, P6 and Viewpoint a plus • Ability to access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments • Valid driver’s license • This is a Safety Sensitive Position – drug screen is required Benefits: • Competitive Pay Package • Vehicle Reimbursement Program • Cell Phone • Medical Insurance • Dental Insurance • 401K Please look at our website for more information about our company: www.hamil.com Thank you for reviewing our opportunity. As a Safety Manager, you will oversee our safety team, along with managing and developing safety programs to educate field managers and employees to help prevent hazards, risks, and injuries. Hamilton Construction is seeking someone who will be dedicated to a safe work environment and is willing to travel to various project locations. Responsibilities Include: • Lead our employees to maintain a safe working environment • Train field crew on safety programs • Conduct frequent jobsite inspections and document observations (overnight travel required) • Recommend procedural, design, and operational improvements to minimize/avoid hazard potential • Create & update written safety programs for company Health & Safety Manual, as needed • Write Site Specific Safety Plans for new projects; review and update existing plans as needed • Conduct safety training orientations for all new hires • Review and interpret technical information and regulations, and advise management of requirements • Develop and conduct Monthly company Safety Committee Meetings Requirements: • Ability to pass the Railroad (BNSF/eRailSafe) background checks • Strong background in State and Federal OSHA compliance for construction • Experience in accident/incident prevention, investigation, documentation, and reporting • Experience in Job Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment • Highly organized and self-motivated • Manage multiple projects with specific deadlines • Communicate in a professional manner and conduct presentations successfully at all levels of the organization • Bend, squat, walk, and climb stairs and ladders as needed for site inspections • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record • 10 hour/30-hour OSHA certification preferred • OSHA Train the Trainer course completion preferred • Able to travel to projects for extended periods of time, as needed • B.S. in Health & Safety preferred • This is a Safety Sensitive Position – drug screen and pre-employment background check are required Compensation: • Estimated $75,000 to $95,000 a year • Competitive Pay Package • Company Vehicle provided • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays • Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance with company HRA contributions • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • 401K Option We are an equal opportunity employer.
