Renewable Energy Integration Specialist

Renewable Energy Integration Specialist We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Integration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and optimizing infrastructure that enables solar and other distributed energy sources to charge battery systems, which in turn supply resilient and efficient power to data centers and the broader electric grid. Key Responsibilities: • Design and model integrated energy systems involving solar, wind, batteries, and conventional generation to support grid and data center loads. • Develop electrical interconnect strategies to ensure safe, reliable, and standards-compliant connections between renewable assets, energy storage, and grid infrastructure. • Perform power flow analysis, protection coordination, and stability studies using industry tools. • Support the design of microgrids, islanding systems, and backup power solutions for mission-critical facilities. • Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure multidisciplinary system integration. • Evaluate interconnection standards and regulatory requirements and guide system designs to ensure compliance. • Work with utility companies, ISOs, and project developers to secure interconnection approvals and optimize grid tie-in strategies. • Develop technical documentation including one-line diagrams, load studies, interconnect applications, and power purchase agreements where applicable. • Contribute to proposal development, R&D efforts, and system prototyping for defense and commercial energy resilience projects. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. • 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably with a focus on renewable integration and grid interconnects. • Strong knowledge of electrical system design, high/medium/low voltage systems, and control systems for DERs. • Familiarity with battery technologies, power converters/inverters, and energy management systems. • Understanding of data center power requirements, redundancy architectures, and grid support strategies. • Experience working with utility grid codes, interconnection standards, and renewable energy permitting processes. • Proficient in power simulation and modeling tools. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. National Solar Solutions is hiring a Renewable Energy Regional Manager in Wilmington, NC. The role involves meeting homeowners to discuss net metering benefits and providing solar options. Candidates will manage their schedules and have uncapped commission potential. No experience is required, but strong communication skills are essential. This is an in-person position, emphasizing growth and teamwork within the solar industry. Overview We are a national residential solar company and are looking to grow our local office in Wilmington. As a company our job is to find homeowners that qualify for the federally subsidized net metering program, which aims to improve the energy efficiency of homes and the grid. We pair qualified homeowners with the home efficiency and solar options that are the best fit for their home to save them money on their utility bills. Renewable Energy Consultant Position We will be looking to promote a successful consultant to area manager within 90 days. In this role you will be part of a team. Renewable energy consultants are responsible for meeting with qualified homeowners to go over the benefits of net metering. They will be able to create their own appointments, as well as take appointments created for them by our team of trained appointment setters. Renewable energy consultants are trained on a pitch to educate and inform homeowners about the home efficiency and solar options available to them with the net metering program. They are also trained to be product knowledge experts, and how to facilitate the transition to solar and net metering for homeowners if it's a good fit. The best way to do this is in-person, so this is not a remote position. Candidates that excel in this position are highly driven and effective communicators.
