Wind Turbine Technician I-Industrial Services - Full-time

Position Overview: The general role of a Wind Turbine Technician I – Industrial Services is to provide labor to a wide range of facilities construction, mechanical and industrial projects within the wind industry. This is a semi-skilled position that requires a mechanical knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of construction trades. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities: Wind Energy, Oil and Gas, Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Solar, etc. This individual should have a basic understanding of industrial construction and must become proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation. This position will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work and the willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings, and possible night shift. What You'll Do: • Provide labor for various wind, facilities construction, industrial, and mechanical projects • Perform concrete work, rebar, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, and general labor as required • Perform a variety of industrial landscaping such as installing silt fences, mowing right of ways, etc. • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively • Learn to operate basic machinery such as a man-lift, scissor lift, fork-lift, etc. • Assist in the installation of wind turbines, including the assembly of components such as blades, nacelles, and towers • Perform routine maintenance to ensure the turbines are operating efficiently to include lubrication, filter changes, and checking for wear and tear on components • Learn to assemble basic structures such as sheds, garages, etc. • Learn to set up rigging to hoist equipment • Learn to select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved • Learn to attach loads with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook • Use hand signals to direct workers who are engaged in hoisting machinery and equipment • Learn to read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements • Learn duties of the Wind Turbine Techs and assist as needed • Sit, talk, hear, read, and write • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Perform duties on-site at industrial and commercial locations • Work in extreme temperature conditions and environments • Perform work at a variety of heights What You'll Bring: • 0-2 years of basic construction and/or mechanical experience preferred • Possesses a mechanical aptitude with prior experience in commercial/industrial mechanical fields preferred • Valid driver’s license preferred • Experience using basic hand tools • Ability to accurately read a tape measure • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to follow work direction • Ability to meet deadlines • Comfortable with working at heights preferred Min: USD $19.00/Hr.
