PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: As the site leader for Grissan Renewable Energy Lebanon Kentucky facility, you will hold overall accountability for ensuring the compliant, efficient, and high-performance operation of the site. You’ll be responsible for the full P&L, driving profitability through smart resource management, cost control, and process optimization. This role is central to building a data-driven decision-making culture with a strong emphasis on analyzing trends, setting strategic budgets, and delivering (or exceeding) performance targets. You will lead the development and oversight of site KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement through proactive monitoring and corrective actions. As the primary site contact for key external partners and stakeholders, you’ll represent Grissan’s values and operational excellence. You’ll also lead and inspire both direct and indirect reports, cultivating a strong safety culture and team accountability. This position plays a key role in the group-wide escalation and on-call process, ensuring seamless coordination across the broader business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational Deployment Commissioning: • Work closely with the Process Engineering Group and serve as the Operational Owner for commissioning activities. • Lead the operational deployment plan to ensure site readiness in advance of commissioning. • Support the development of Environmental, Health and Safety Processes including Process Safety Management (PSM) at the site. • Must be willing to travel and may include an extended stay in the UK for up to 2 months for training on managing the site. • Willingness to perform other duties as needed in a start-up environment. Financial Management, Planning & Reporting: • Define, manage and deliver site P&L · Develop deep understanding of site processes · Ability to interpret P&IDs, mass balances, and process KPIs · Manage shift scheduling, performance reviews, and training · Plan and coordinate activities for site shutdowns and planned site activities • Provide business case for developments and deliver Capital Expenditure Requirements for the site. • Discuss, review and agree action on data driven site performance assessment with Production Team Leaders, escalating any requirements or risks to the US General Manager. • Prepare and present Weekly and Monthly reports to the US General Manager with variation commentary and plan of action to address deviation from plan (Inputs, Outputs, Yield/Efficiency, Reliability) • Accountability for ensuring assets are maintained to meet legal and compliance requirements and maximize plant uptime. • Analyze downtime analysis for trends and identify any necessary corrective and preventative actions and monitor to completion to ensure plant compliance and efficiency. • Drive, encourage and ensure accurate and timely recording of all operational data to support a data led decision making culture. Back up decision making processes with data. Compliance: Safety, Health, Environment & Quality: • Leading by example, drive, promote and ensure a culture within the Operations team where safe working practices and quality policies & procedures are documented and are strictly followed to ensure compliance with all legal and internal requirements. • Promote and ensure a proactive approach to the implementation of Companywide safety recommendations across the site. • Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses on site are reported and investigated, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented and monitored to prevent recurrence. Overall accountability for ensuring investigations are fully complete and closed off. • Ensure processes and risk assessments are documented and followed to ensure safe systems of work for all tasks on site, including control of contractors and visitors. • Accountability for ensuring site adherence to legal and regulatory inspection, testing and reporting. Audit processes to ensure compliance. • Overall site accountability for ensuring Management of Change (MOC) process is followed and for timely completion and final sign off. • Be the lead contact for your site during any improvement/expansion projects, from point of concept to handover, ensuring that the requirements of the site(s) are met to ensure the delivery of the projects. • Ensure production monitoring process is followed on daily basis and that blockers are identified, and actions are taken/escalated to maximize efficient outputs. • Promote and support the implementation and ongoing management of the Company wide Integrated Management System. • Accountable for ensuring non-conformances for Site for all Compliance, Quality, and Operational deviations are raised, and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented to drive continual improvement. Lead third party site audits as required. • Audit site processes frequently to ensure compliance. People Management & Development: • Provide strong leadership and ensure continuous engagement with the site team. Accountability for ensuring that all employees on site are trained and competent to carry out their roles & tasks and that training & development is identified and resourced where needed and at the appropriate level. • Ensure accurate and up to date role profiles are available for all roles on site and that all site personnel are aware of role requirements. • Ensure all new employees undergo a thorough and documented induction, as per Company processes. • Ensure relevant records are completed and filed as required. • Lead and manage direct reports and ensure same for indirect reports. Ensure PDP’s are in place for direct reports and that all PDP’s for all site employees are completed as per Company process. • Develop the site team leadership group (and People of Potential) to build our leaders of the future, and document and review succession plans for the site. • Ensure performance of site team is managed, recognized and course corrected as necessary. • Review and update training and competency requirements for direct and indirect reports, working towards a high performing team culture. Strictly ensure that training records are available for all training, for all employees on site. Continuous Improvement: • Ensure that opportunities for Continuous Improvement for systems and processes are identified, resourced and implemented for your site. • Evaluate the success of such projects and continuously evaluate processes using PDCA methodologies. Experience Essential: At least 10 years’ experience within chemical manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years working at senior leadership level leading teams of 10+ people, in a modern dynamic manufacturing business, ideally having led leaders from different functions. Previous experience of dealing with third party governing authorities e.g. OSHA, EPA, and other comparable external governance/auditing bodies. Direct or indirect experience of the operation of an engineering maintenance function. Leadership and soft skills training and experience. Financial management training and experience. Knowledge and deployment experience in globally accepted best practices for manufacturing, including 5S, Performance Management, OEE tracking, and functional level best practices.
