Department Facilities - Maintenance Responsibilities • Develops, fabricates, installs, and insulates HVAC supply and return duct systems, both in renovation and repair work. Installs fume hoods, ducts, and other ventilation systems. Assists in the installation of air handling units, steam and chilled water coils, autoclaves, and other heavy equipment. Performs electric and acetylene welding, brazing, and cutting; flat, vertical, and horizontal welding. Fabricates, installs, and/or maintains gutters, downspouts, grills, food carts, awnings, and various other metal fabrication as assigned by the supervisor. • Removes and/or replaces pumps, fans, and electric motors around campus. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on laboratory exhaust fans and motors. Repair/rebuild pumps, fans, and electric motors to be returned to service. Assist with plumbing, fountains, and flagpoles as needed. • Reads and follows blueprints, written repair orders, and other instructions related to job duties. Maintains tools and work areas in a safe and workmanlike manner. • Operates University vehicles and performs other related work as required in support of Facilities University. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent and two years’ experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational may substitute for experience. • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or ability to obtain upon hire.
