Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Read prints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies. • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance. • Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc. • Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager. • First piece sign offs. • Verify and perform in process inspections. • Assist/train production team members in understanding how to check parts thoroughly. • Ensure quality is encouraged at all levels of production. • Document and communicate quality concerns to Quality Manager. • Assist with FAI, PPAP, and other inspections. • Performs other tasks, as required. Physical / Mental Demands • Physical work equal to exerting 20 to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. • Regularly required to stand, bend and reach. • Required to regularly use computers or tablets to read, type, and input data. • Responsible and trustworthy. • Required to wear PPE such as but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe shoes and gloves. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities • Ability to read a tape measurer, micrometers, and calipers. • Ability to read and understand part specs and plans. • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach. • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems. • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies. • Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Office (including excel). Environmental Working Conditions • Hot and cold environment based off outside temperatures. • Required to move between multiple work stations. • Shop work environment with sometimes loud noise levels Experience • previous experience as a quality inspector or similar role.
