As a Detailer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful coordination and execution of mechanical and pipe/plumbing systems within a project. Your primary responsibilities include reviewing plans, specifications and submittals to accurately design and coordinate plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems. You will identify and communicate any design issues to engineers and GC’s, ensuring seamless integration of all systems. In a design-build environment, you will collaborate closely with engineers from the conceptual design phase through to the final drawing and detailing of mechanical systems. You will be responsible for generating clear and precise drawings that serve as a guide for field teams to efficiently install and prefabricate systems. Overall Purpose: To design, coordinate, and produce detailed drawings for mechanical systems, facilitating prefabrication and installation while ensuring project success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Must use Fabrication CADmep to detail job. • Must be able to download shop drawings to fab shop. • Must be able to communicate with engineers and field foremen. • Must be able to help project managers review submittals. • Must be able to order materials from CAD generated material list. • Must be able to find the cleanest and most cost-effective route for all systems. Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, managing files and records, and other office procedures, software, and terminology. Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Communication: Effectively communicating as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms. Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required): • High School Diploma required • 2 – 3 years related experience; 3 - 5 years field foremen experience preferred • Must be willing to attend Fabrication CADmep, AutoCAD and Revit training. • Must be able to read and understand all construction plans and specifications. • Must be able to read and review all submittals and make corrections. • Must be able to enter a job site and verify existing conditions. Physical Requirements: • Position is largely sedentary, some walking, bending, and standing. • Position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. • Position requires work on a computer for extended periods of time.
