Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker/ Detailer

Duties: Sheet Metal and HVAC detailers (engineers) are responsible for sketching detailed drawings to help teams develop efficient and cost-effective production plans and tactics. These skilled commercial HVAC tradespeople provide coordination between the hardware fabricators and the installers to ensure success, quality and accuracy of projects from start to finish. Detailers work with project documents, plans and specifications, take field measurements and create 3-D coordination digital drawings with CAD computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. - Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the layout and dimensions of metal components - Use a variety of tools and equipment, such as grinders, saws, and drills, to fabricate and assemble metal parts - Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects - Maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications: -Journeyman sheet metal card -Relevant work experience -Detailing experience with building information modeling (BIM) - Previous experience in metalworking or a related field is preferred - Knowledge of mechanical principles and ability to use various hand and power t - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings - Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise Note: This job may require occasional field service visits or driving a van for transportation purposes. About the position ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to support ongoing activities under the Kirtland AFB Engineering Operations Services (KEOS) contract in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Sheet Metal Worker will be responsible for performing general inspection, repair, and maintenance of building exterior and interior systems. This role is crucial for preserving the integrity of water seals and ensuring the effective delivery of conditioned air, which enhances energy conservation. The position requires compliance with Kirtland AFB Design Guide Standards as well as federal, state, and local building codes. In this role, the Sheet Metal Worker will respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary repairs. The worker will also be tasked with fulfilling service requirements and accounting for time and materials in accordance with contractual obligations for emergency, routine, and preventative work tasks. Documentation must be completed in line with company processes and customer service requirements. Daily communication with central dispatch and the shop supervisor regarding work order status and outstanding customer issues is essential. Participation in an after-hours on-demand service program is also required. The Sheet Metal Worker will accomplish sheet metal fabrication and assembly on maintenance and construction projects, including layout and fabrication of ductwork and building components using mechanical fasteners or welding. A variety of sheet metal fabrications for heating and ventilation systems will be performed using various sheet metal forming tools and equipment.
