Service Plumber

Title: Journeyman Plumber (Service) Reports To: Service Manager Mission Statement: Install, repair and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in commercial and industrial settings while meeting all building codes and safety regulations. Essential Functions • Report to main shop area each day no later than the start time specified by the Service Manager • Review specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials • Identify required tools and special equipment • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures • Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment • Assemble and install valves and fittings • Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls • Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs, toilets and plumbing fixtures • Install, repair and maintain water heaters, conditioners, appliances and trim • Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks • Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures • Document all installed equipment: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements • Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer • Availability to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of customers • Maintain good working order and cleanliness of company vehicle, including refueling as necessary and reporting any mechanical issues • Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle • Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate code requirements • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements • The work is primarily commercial service plumbing for a few local customers • Identify and report to owner potential opportunities for additional business • Complete all required paperwork and return to Dispatch office in timely manner • Request equipment and supplies in order to maintain inventory and ensure availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair Requirements • Journeyman licensure and have proficient knowledge of the plumbing trade • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company insurance policy • Must work cooperatively with other trades • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and/or other job specifications • Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen • Ability to lift 25lbs – 50lbs, climb ladders, work at heights and in confined spaces • Exceptional time-management, planning, analytical and problem solving skills • Effective communications skills when dealing with customers and co-workers #hc122210
