Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dependable Journeyman Pipe Fitter to join our Commericial Fire Protection team. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise with fire pumps, hydrants, backflows, and standpipe systems, and can perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. This role requires a highly skilled professional who is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. Responsibilities: • Inspect, test, service, and maintain fire pumps, hydrants, standpipes, and backflow prevention assemblies. • Perform NFPA 25 inspections and document all findings accurately. • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and system performance issues and recommend corrective actions. • Complete repair work, replacements, and adjustments in a timely and professional manner. • Keep accurate records of all inspections, tests, deficiencies, and repairs. • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and answering questions clearly and professionally. • Stay current with NFPA standards, codes, regulations, and industry practices through continuous education and training. • Coordinate with office staff, technicians, and other departments to complete work efficiently. • Protect the organization’s reputation by taking ownership of quality service and supporting new initiatives. Requirements: • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter in fire protection or a closely related mechanical trade. • In possession of a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter Card. • Strong, hands-on knowledge of fire pumps, hydrants, backflows, and standpipes. • Understanding of NFPA 25 and California plumbing/fire code requirements. • OSHA-10 required prior to start date (or must be completed immediately). • Great organizational and communication skills. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work safely in various field environments. • Comfortable working in mechanical rooms, at heights, and outdoors in diverse conditions. • Due to current client contracts, all candidates must pass drug screening and clear criminal background checks.
