Journeyman Pipefitter

About the position Georgia Pacific is hiring a Pipefitter for our Neenah, WI location! Our Pipefitters are responsible for providing maintenance pipefitting services for pilot plant operations including fabrication, installation, routine repairs, and setup for equipment and components. The current opening is on the 1st shift which is 7am to 3pm Monday through Friday. For this position, we anticipate paying $34.50 hourly. There will be opportunity for overtime in this role. In this role, you will work in an industrial/manufacturing/research environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You will be responsible for installing and maintaining industrial piping systems, such as process piping, process steam, steam heating, hot water heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems. Additionally, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including controls, pumps, and cylinders. You will work within a flex-trade environment to complete tasks and utilize skills in other disciplines. You will also operate material handling equipment, including hoists, lifts, rigging equipment, cranes, and lift trucks to complete mechanical installation and service of piping system equipment. Collaboration is key, as you will work within a team environment that may include other maintenance employees, engineers, technicians, or outside contractors. Following work plans, drawings, and schedules for machine installations or rebuilds that involve proprietary technology is essential. You will need to demonstrate an understanding and application of current piping codes and safe work practices, exhibit effective interpersonal skills, and accurately follow verbal and written instructions, including blueprints and technical documents. A strong safety sense and attention to detail are crucial, as is the ability to complete all work, including cleanup of the work site and proper storage of tools and materials upon job completion.
