Technical Support Specialist- Offshore Wind Turbine Industry (Virgina Beach, VA area)

A Snapshot of Your Day We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Support Specialist to assist offshore wind turbine technicians in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing the performance of wind turbines. As a key member of our support team, you will provide real-time technical guidance and support to field technicians working on offshore wind farms. Your role will involve diagnosing issues, assisting with technical procedures, wind turbine troubleshooting and ensuring that turbines operate at peak efficiency with minimal downtime. This role is based in Virginia with a primary focus on our Coastal Virginia Offshore Windfarm however you will also remotely contribute to wider global technical support objectives and from time to time you may be required to travel to other windfarms. Excellent communication skills, technical expertise in wind turbine systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are critical in order to be successful in this role. How You’ll Make an Impact • Provide remote support to offshore technicians for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on wind turbines. Analyze and diagnose technical issues using remote monitoring systems, SCADA data, and field reports. Guide technicians through complex technical procedures to ensure safe and efficient repair or replacement of components. Liaise with field engineers, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and other technical teams to resolve issues in real-time. Provide local wind turbine troubleshooting support on complex or re-occurring failures. • Monitor turbine performance via remote systems and identify potential issues before they lead to downtime. Perform remote diagnostics and recommend preventive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime. Analyze fault reports and alarms generated by wind turbine control systems. • Create and update detailed technical documentation for common troubleshooting scenarios and procedures. Log and track support cases using the company’s ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up. Provide comprehensive incident reports to the engineering and management teams, detailing technical issues, resolutions, and any required follow-up actions. • Collaborate with internal teams including Engineering & Operations to ensure that all technical solutions follow safety regulations and operational standards. Escalate complex technical issues to advanced support or Engineering when necessary and track the resolution progress. • Work alongside customers, collaborators, or site managers as needed to clarify technical issues and share updates on ongoing work. Assist in maintaining relationships with turbine manufacturers and third-party vendors for technical support and product knowledge. • Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy qualifications or a related technical field preferred. Strong understanding of wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems. Experience with SCADA systems and remote monitoring platforms for wind turbines. Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and data logs. Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and operational procedures for wind turbines. What You Bring • A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. A degree in a related field is preferred. 2 or more years of experience in technical support, field service, or maintenance roles related to wind turbines or industrial systems is desired. Various combinations of experience and education will be considered. • Experience with offshore wind turbines or other renewable energy projects is a big plus. • Previous collaboration various wind turbine OEMs, such as Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, GE, or similar. • GWO (Global Wind Organization) Basic Safety Training (preferred but not required). • Any relevant certifications in wind energy technology, electrical systems, or mechanical systems are a plus. • Proficient in using ticketing systems (such as Jira, ServiceNow, etc.) to log, track, and manage support cases. Driving is a crucial function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license. Senior Technician- Wind Turbine (Off-Shore)

A Snapshot of Your Day Responsible for day to day offshore operations reporting to the local Service Manager. The role will involve both technical and nontechnical activities and can require both on and off-shore working. The selected candidate will play an integral part in daily functions so leadership and communication skills are vital. Accountable for providing technical, safety and leadership competence at a local level, if selected, you will support Windfarm availability whilst performing planned maintenance. How You’ll Make an Impact • Ensure compliance at site with EHS standards according to Siemens Gamesa and local requirements. • Providing support to Service teams and Troubleshooting teams when they call for parts or tools. Guide inventory manager to identify the right tools and parts and supports getting it delivered to the turbine. • Use established remote diagnostic tools and systems to optimize turbine availability • Support technicians that call in for guidance in relation to service manual or in relation to trouble shooting. Go through checklist for final approval and keep technical documentation organized. • Support on technical queries with accurate and up to date reporting as per local, customer and organizational requirements. • Keep an overview of performed work in turbines and analyze findings that have been reported. What You Bring • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Specialized education or training in the electrical, mechanical, or managerial fields is preferred. These can be degrees, certificates, military/government training, or completed skilled trade apprenticeships. • 2 or more years working in an industrial setting, ideally within wind turbine field preferred. • This job requires the ability to interact with a large range of contractors and customers. • Experienced working with MS Office applications and preferably SAP, Monitoring Operations and Registration System (MORS), Wind Hub or remote diagnostic tools would be an advantage • Must be flexible to work in shifts at the project location (e.g. 2 weeks on at sea & 2 weeks off) to be confirmed. Offshore Service Technician- Wind Power Industry

A Snapshot of Your Day This position requires you to carry out all the duties associated with the service, maintenance, and repair of Siemens Gamesa Direct Drive Wind Turbines. This role must ensure world class service is performed while driving a high First Time Fix Rate and Availability. A period of technical upskilling and training could take place at various wind farms and training centers within the SGRE Fleet requiring up to 80% travel. During the operational phase of Coastal Virginia Commercial Project (176 x SG14-222 Direct Drive turbines) this person will then assume a shift pattern living and working offshore (e.g., 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off). How You’ll Make an Impact • Responsible for offshore service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on wind turbines • Active safety leadership when onshore, on board the Service Operations Vessel (SOV), in the turbine and in the Wind Farm - ensuring correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts and conditions • Provide excellent service to our customers • Working safely and effectively in a team of at least 2 people • Ability to work a flexible work schedule is required, along with the ability to analyze and resolve issues independently and efficiently • Ensuring compliance with SGRE standards and U.S. legislation in relation to EHS, Quality and Service delivery What You Bring • The candidate must demonstrate strong initiative and motivation to learn new technology and translate learning into personal success • Relevant work experience, ideally within the wind industry, is preferred or demonstrated knowledge e.g., electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/troubleshooting in a military, industrial or automotive industry • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. An electrical and/or mechanical education would be preferable, but not essential. Open to candidates in near completion of technical degrees/certifications • Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces • Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations • Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
