Energy Manager (Clean Energy Contracts)

Summary: In this role, you will be a key contributor to Meta's Global Energy Team, specifically the Clean Energy Asset Management Team. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clean and renewable energy contracts and as needed, carbon reduction or carbon removal agreements, including: supporting/leading negotiations for amendments, ensuring contract compliance, monitoring project development and construction status, and reporting on financial and operational performance for operating projects. You will have the opportunity to master contract details, analyze financial and operational project performance, resolve disputes, and propose solutions. Required Skills: Energy Manager (Clean Energy Contracts) Responsibilities: • Serve as the ongoing owner for all of Meta's executed clean energy and carbon contract requirements • Create, maintain, update documents and data related to clean and renewable energy contracts • Track counterparty compliance with contract milestones and other deliverables • Respond to counterparty inquires and manage contract amendments, collateral, force majeure claims, and other issues as needed • Surface and resolve issues in ongoing contracts and project operations • Track and analyze clean energy operational project performance • Track and analyze renewable energy financial project performance • Track project progress through development and construction milestones and lead risk reporting against schedule and forecast • Manage approval and signature process for contract documents after execution • Support invoicing and reporting on clean energy contracts, and ensure that RECs, costs and project performance are consistent with contract terms and conditions • Coordinate with legal counsel, finance, accounting, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable and other key stakeholders Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in business, energy or environmental science, paralegal studies or similar • 5+ years of work experience with an corporate renewable energy buyer, IPP, owner operator, electric utility, energy supplier, or energy intensive industrial or consumer company • Experience managing a portfolio of renewable energy contracts, especially wind and solar energy supply contracts • Experience drafting official correspondence between counterparties and experience developing and maintaining partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders • Experience with G-Suite, Excel, Word, and Tableau • Experience in building cross-functional relationships • Experience analyzing and interpreting energy generation data, virtual PPAs, green tariffs, and wholesale energy market data Public Compensation: $126,000/year to $179,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits Industry: Internet Equal Opportunity: Meta is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. Renewable Energy Solar Development Director - Central Region Location : Durham, NC (or Remote) Ecoplexus Inc. (www.ecoplexus.com) is a rapidly growing renewable energy developer and independent power producer (IPP), targeting the utility scale renewable energy and energy storage markets. Headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in North Carolina, Dallas, Mexico City, Seoul, Tokyo, and Ho Chi Minh. POSITION Lead the Company's project development activities in the U.S. Central region (focusing on ERCOT, MISO, and SPP market areas), working closely with senior management. This position will help coordinate interconnection, permitting, real estate, GIS, finance, origination, and engineering teams to achieve project and company goals. The position reports to the SVP, US Development & Origination. Duties and responsibilities include : • Management of regional project development activities including site acquisition, permitting and entitlement work, interconnection and transmission planning work, and revenue contract origination. • Recommend a portfolio investment strategy for the region for solar, wind and energy storage projects. Develop project and portfolio level budges and timelines. • Oversee one or more dedicated junior developers. Manage a team of internal matrixed subject matter experts and / or outside consultants to deliver projects on time and on budget. • In coordination with an Origination team, participate in or lead sales and marketing activities for utility and non-utility offtakers and programs. Coordinate Company responses to utility and other entity requests for proposals. • Identify prospects for mergers and acquisitions and assist in diligence activities. Lead or participate in acquisition, joint development, divestiture, power purchase and other agreement negotiations. • Negotiate consulting agreements and manage consultants. • Assist in creation and maintenance of project reporting and management processes to optimize development spend and risk reduction across project portfolio. • Support Executive and Finance Teams during investor due diligence process • Provide regular updates to and Interact with the Executive Team and promptly raise concerns w hen they become apparent. • P rovide a smooth transition to the Ecoplexus operations team as projects progress to construction. Provide post-development support to the Ecoplexus operations team as necessary. • Employee may be provided with additional responsibilities based on mutual agreement of both the Employee and Company. REQUIREMENTS 6+ years; experience with wind, solar, or thermal energy development required. Experience in the U.S. Central region is preferred. BA / MBA / JD - finance, law, or energy business related preferred. Proven experience in successfully developing and bringing online large scale solar, wind, and / or energy storage projects in the United States is required.
