Wind Technician Renewables - Heavy Lift Division - Travel

A Snapshot of Your Day Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is searching for advanced turbine technicians who are willing and capable of leading and / or being part of our Heavy Lifts and Large Corrective teams. The Wind Service Travel Technician position requires 100% travel, so qualified candidates must live within 50 miles of a major airport. This role requires both day and night shift availability. Wind Technicians will preform technical tasks, provide excellent customer service remotely and onsite, and will support generating sales leads and contributes to planning activities. How You’ll Make an Impact • Performs mainly pre-defined, technical tasks (for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) and work packages on-site and remotely. • Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers equipment. • Adheres to defined processes and applicable regulations. • Work in stressful and dangerous situations, and contribute to developing new field procedures and standard methodologies. • Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently. • Actively work on wind turbine projects and identify and report all incidents or near misses. What You Bring • High school diploma or equivalent experience • Must have minimum of 2 years wind experience with major component exchange experience or similar to such as turbine erection and decommission. preferred • Basic computer and iPad use skills along with strong verbal and written communication skills • Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces • Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 lbs. or less as required by the equipment safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position. • Must have clean driving record and pass pre-hire drug screening and th ability to apply and obtain a Company American Express card. • Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license. • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Wind Turbine Technician- Adair, IA

A Snapshot of Your Day In this role you’ll be responsible for the service and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at our Adair, IA location. Provide excellent service to our customers, analyze and react to people in stressful hazardous situations. How You’ll Make an Impact • Contribute to the improvement of new and updated field procedures and standard methodologies. • Ability to work inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of 300 feet. • Ability to think clearly and maintain composure during stressful and or hazardous situations is a critical to success in the position. • Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions. • Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm. What You Bring • High school diploma or equivalent is required along with 2 or more years’ experience. A College degree or equivalent competency in a field related to the work of a wind farm technician ie: electrical / mechanical systems is desirable. Various combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. • Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position • Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently. • Hands experience working with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters. • Experience interacting with customers at various levels of responsibility within their respective organizations. Wind Turbine Blade Technician (USA)
