Wind Energy Site Supervisor

About the Job: We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Wind Energy Site Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our wind energy site, ensuring that we deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs • Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues to achieve business objectives • Provide guidance and support to team members to help them grow and develop in their roles • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure we remain competitive and innovative Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team • Experience with P&L management and wind service operations • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs • Skilled at articulating ideas through spoken and written mediums • Ability to work in demanding physical and weather conditions • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules as needed Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that are met by an employee, to effectively perform the essential functions of this role. The primary goal is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable wind turbine operation. What You'll Be Doing • Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment. • Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines. • Perform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair, and replacement to correct malfunctions. • Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. • Use electrical test equipment to assist in troubleshooting and testing. • Work a flexible on call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum one (2) year technical wind industry experience, OR six (6) months technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a Wind Technician program, OR in absence of technical wind industry experience, minimum three (3) years' experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical skills and composite skills. • Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque and diagnostic tools (e.g. fluke meter functions and hydraulic stress gauge) • Ability to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices / protocols (e.g. Confined Space, energy isolation) • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a Passport. • Basic computer operation skills, familiarity with internet-based program navigation, and ability to generate and interpret computer data and ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics to validate work activity and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated. • Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet. Job will require standing outside the nacelle and nosecone at the top of the turbine. • Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record. • Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments. • Able to travel as required. • Knowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools. • Able to work safely in a confined space. • Have an in depth understanding of the different components of the wind turbine systems. • Possess the skills to perform mechanical and electrical equipment repairs.
