Job Description Job Description Powder Coat Technician Job Summary: The Powder Coat Technician is responsible for operating the powder coat line, oven, and finishing precision metal parts into finished goods. Operations includes selection of the appropriate powder and gun setting, adjusting the line speed and oven temperature, preparing of parts for coating, racking and un-racking parts, coating of parts, packaging, and preventative maintenance. This job is Monday-Thursday 10 hour per day. Typically hours of operation is 5am-330pm. Overtime is available and generally take place on Fridays from 7am-12pm. Duties and essential jobs: Machine Preparation • Perform machine inspections to ensure readiness for operations • Perform all material handling required for preparation, coating, and offloading. • Perform all machine setup as required • Ensure readiness of equipment for use • Ensure availability of consumables for use, including powder coat, disks, plugs. Hangers, and cleaning supplies. Machine Operation: • Setup gun, line speed, and oven temperature to the correct specifications • Clean and degrease parts and prepare parts for coating. • Hang and rack parts for coating applications • Apply powder per manufactures direction to achieve customers’ requirements. • Unload finished parts and prepare them for shipping • Ensure proper machine operation • Inspect and test finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications • Label and track parts through the production process Machine Maintenance: • Ensure machines are in good, always working order • Inspect consumables on recurring schedule and replace as required • Perform all PM and repair maintenance procedures • Catalog and track all repairs and maintenance procedures Other General Duties: • Workstation Cleanup • Safety inspections of work area • Able to setup and run a job without assistance and with few or no resets • Able to read blueprints, take measurements, and follow written procedures • Ability to work off-shift with minimal notice • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 35 lbs.) unassisted • Ability to adapt in this fast-paced work environment Company Description Sheet metal job shop.
