The Sheet Metal Fabricator will work on a diverse range of parts and projects within our job-shop manufacturing environment. This position will specialize in preparing parts for welding by saw cutting, press brake bending, drilling, tapping, and grinding. May be asked to float and assist other areas and machine operations, training and assistance will be provided as needed. Here are some details: Typical Responsibilities • Run Press Brake to form bends in sheet metal, selecting tools and creating repeatable programs • Run and maintain horizontal saw to cut metal tubes and bars to length • Use hydraulic tube bender to form tubes and extrusions to meet print • Perform metal fabrication tasks, including Drill, Tap, Countersink, PEM Insertion. • Grind and finish metal parts, achieving excellent visual results • Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings. • Measure and mark workpieces using appropriate tools. • Ensure all products meet quality standards. • Operate forklifts and cranes to move materials. • Maintain a safe work environment. • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas. • Follow company rules, policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards. • Work collaboratively with the team to maximize Zone 2 productivity. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members. • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement projects. • Use problem-solving skills to resolve daily manufacturing issues. • Know when to escalate an issue and seek assistance. • Document and report all material, drawing, equipment, and quality issues. • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks as needed. • Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials and completed parts as needed. • Build and maintain a respectful work environment that we can all be proud of. You will load and drive our flatbed truck for local shipments around Yakima, and occasionally drive as far as Seattle. You will help maintain raw materials inventory, and provide feedback to the production team to help get the right parts on the truck and delivered on time.
