General Employment Consideration - Sheet Metal Mechanic

Principal Accountabilities Review and understand project blueprints and specifications with assistance from site foreman. Responsible for ducting system coordination for material list takeoff. Ability to cut, assemble, and adhere duct systems. Ability to layout and assemble inline units to duct system. Ability to layout and assemble roof exhaust fans to duct system. Assist helpers to understand job tasks to ensure work is being completed in a timely manner to meet the job schedule. Attend weekly safety toolbox talk meetings with foreman and other jobsite employees. Responsible for use of proper tools and PPE on site to perform assigned job tasks. Responsible for helping the foreman to keep as-built redlined drawings for closeout documents. Must have reliable transportation. Calmly and constructively manage disagreements, conflicts, and crises as required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to use hand tools and operate electric and/or battery powered tools. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. at times. Must be able to ascend and descend step ladders and work from elevated scissor lifts and scaffolding. Qualifications for Success: 5+ years experience in related field and successful completion of apprenticeship.
