Job Description Title: Welder Location: Muncie, IN Duration and Hire Type: Direct Hire Overview: We are seeking skilled welders to join a division of Caterpillar Inc. This opportunity involves performing welding operations on locomotive assembly using text routings, visual work instructions, and drawings. Responsibilities: • Weld heavy plate and sheet metal in all positions. • Perform single-pass and multi-pass welds. • Fit and weld material to specifications. • Use welding-related gauges and tools for repair. Requirements: • GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) skills. • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) skills. • All position welding in the above processes. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols. • Familiarity with industrial equipment such as gas cutting, hand grinders, and mechanical tools.
