Location:Amarillo Texas Job Title: INF Maintenance Mechanic Sheetmetal Organization: North Zone Maintenance Essential Job Duties • Fabricates assembles alters repairs and installs sheet metal articles and equipment using sheet metal of 10 gauge or below. • Cuts metal with hand shears rotary shears and/or square shears. • Shapes metal with brake and forming machine. • Punches or drills holes for rivets bolts and screws with center punch hammer and/or hand drill. • Assembles sheet metal parts brackets and hangers. • Bolts rivets fits or files seams joints or rough surfaces with grinding wheel or file. • Makes layouts on sheet metal according to blueprints or specifications. • Welds various kinds of metals. • Must be proficient in reading prints and sketches for the fabrication work required of this craft. • Ensures accurate and efficient replacement of parts and makes repairs and/or adjustments to equipment installations and/or fixtures. • Performs functions under direction of line management. Essential Job Duties Continued • Responsible for the maintenance of accurate records. • Must adhere to Safety Fire and Security regulations. • Must be able to work alone or with others as the job requires. • Responsible for safe operation and proper care of materials tools and equipment. • Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of applicable Federal State DOE Corporate and Plant rules regulations Labor Agreements and Plantwide operating policies and procedures. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2 and Management. • Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls. • Understands a workers right to stop work when they feel their own or others personal safety is jeopardized. • Attends all required safety meetings and training. Ability to perform the functions and responsibilities involved will be determined by a comprehensive interview and background evaluation.
