The Plumbing Department Manager works closely with the District Manager to improve branch efficiency and profitability, making a direct impact on the success of the organization. Responsibilities • Lead, manage, and motivate the plumbing team to achieve sales and service goals. • Develop and implement training programs for both new and experienced technicians to enhance technical skills and sales performance. • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times. • Oversee all aspects of customer relations, ensuring prompt and high-quality service delivery. • Drive branch growth through effective use of marketing materials such as yard signs, door hangers, business cards, and stickers. • Report weekly to the General Manager on training topics and maintain a training calendar focused on sales and service excellence. • Manage warranty processing and the return of unneeded parts on a weekly basis. • Monitor and control parts costs, maintaining them below established targets, and conduct regular inventory reviews and price checks. • Supervise truck stock, enforce daily replenishment, and ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization. • Conduct weekly service and installation training sessions, as well as motivational meetings to review department performance. • Oversee the proper acquisition of permits and ensure all equipment and parts are staged for upcoming jobs. • Coordinate daily technician dispatch and provide guidance for standby situations. • Uphold and promote the companys safety program, including conducting safety meetings and managing accident reports. • Collaborate with the General Manager on employee discipline and performance management. • Manage the departments on-call schedule and ensure customer needs are met at all times. • Oversee building and tool maintenance, ensuring a clean and efficient work environment. • Lead by example in achieving performance standards, including closing rates and average ticket goals. • Foster a positive and supportive work environment, addressing field issues proactively and discouraging negative behaviors. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager. Qualifications • Journeyman Plumbing License preferred • Proven experience in managing, leading, and motivating teams within a plumbing or related technical environment. • Strong organizational skills and general computer proficiency. • Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs for both new and experienced technicians. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and motivational leadership style. • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality customer service and operational efficiency. • Experience with inventory management and cost control is preferred. • Ability to uphold safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
