Skillforce is currently hiring skilled Journeyman Pipefitters for work in Memphis, TN. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems in industrial, commercial, and/or residential settings. Journeyman Pipefitters will work with various pipe materials and systems, ensuring precision and compliance with safety and industry standards. This is a long term commercial project, working Monday-Friday 40+hours a week, and pay is up to $35/hr depending upon experience. Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine layout requirements. • Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes to required shapes and sizes using specialized tools and equipment. • Assemble and install pipes, valves, fittings, and pressure regulators for water, gas, steam, and other systems. • Inspect and test installed systems using pressure gauges and other testing methods to identify leaks or defects. • Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications to existing piping systems. • Work with various pipe materials including copper, steel, plastic, and cast iron. • Operate and maintain pipe fitting tools such as pipe cutters, welding torches, and pipe benders. Qualifications & Requirements: • Proven experience as a Journeyman Pipefitter. • Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. • Proficiency in using hand and power tools required for pipefitting. • Knowledge of welding, brazing, and soldering techniques is a plus. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • OSHA safety training or equivalent safety certification is a plus. Job Responsibilities Lay-out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain mechanical piping systems which include industrial processing systems, and high pressure piping systems according to the working drawings. Cut and bevel pipe using oxy-fuel cutting torches, mechanical beveller’s or a combination of power and hand tools. Must be proficient in making rolling offsets, fish mouths, laterals and consistently fabricating pipe to the correct dimension. Measure, fabricate, and fit up butt-weld, socket weld, “V” grove pipe, valves, hangers, and threaded piping systems. Operate threading machine equipment. Ability to use rigging to move and get pipe in place. Qualifications/Requirements Applicant Must have a minimum of 4 - 6 years of Journey level experience fitting a variety of pipe in an industrial environment.
