Flex Crew Pipefitter

About the position Responsibilities • Performs highly-skilled piping work involving the assembly, installation, alteration, and repair of piping systems in accordance with Engineering Standards and best practices. • Determines the most efficient and effective means of facilitating work to reduce cost and minimize downtime; may provide recommendations to supervision regarding these items. • Operates power tools and uses hand tools as needed. • Determines the proper methods and installs a wide variety of piping systems. • Plans and performs the fabrication, assembly, installation, alteration, and repair of various piping systems. • Lays out work using a rule, square, pattern, template, or other measurement device(s) to facilitate piping jobs. • Performs the phases of pipefitting work for all pressure classes, including threaded, welded, and lined piping. • Draws isometric drawings of piping systems that can be understood and fabricated by others. • Works from Piping and Instrumentation drawings, Isometric drawings, sketches, and oral instructions to fabricate and install piping. • Follows proper rigging and hoisting practices as required. • Attends special schools or training sessions concerning new piping systems or techniques, skills, or methods, and trains others in the crew techniques thus acquired. • Cleans up job site at end of each job or shift by returning all tools, materials, and supplies to the proper location and properly disposes of all scrap. • Works with and directs the work of other personnel as required. • Operates man-lifts and skyjack, and drives company vehicles to/from job sites, requiring a valid Arkansas Drivers' license. • Plans and schedules work as needed with Maintenance Coordinators. • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision. • Communicates effectively to perform the essential functions of the job. • Completes required safety training as directed and complies with all established departmental, company, and OSHA safety regulations. Requirements • Must satisfactorily pass a respirator fit test and be capable of working near rotating and moving machinery. • Strong math knowledge. • Familiarity with different pipe specifications, standards, and details. • Ability to read and draw isometric drawings. • Possess a pipefitter handbook and be familiar with using it. • Ability to perform all essential elements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. • Successfully completed the FutureFuel Chemical Company Pipefitter's Test or equivalent. • Capable of clear, concise verbal and written communications. • Possess and practice good organizational skills. • Capable of interfacing with various levels of company management, employees, and external contacts. • Must be a team player. • Willing and capable to work varied and rotating shift schedules according to business needs, including overtime and responding to emergencies during off-hours. • Required to wear FR clothing. • Acquire and maintain personal tools.
