Position Title: Pipefitter Job Code: U52343 Company Conformance Statement In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following: • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers. • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Employees are required to: • Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures; • Work safely themselves and help their teammates work safely; • Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions; and • Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace. Purpose of the position Will perform assigned pipefitting duties as an Amentum employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center worksite. Principal Responsibilities of the Position • Referral must have a strong background in all Pipe Fitting work • Fit weld fittings • Fit threaded fittings • Fit MJ (mechanical joint) fittings • Use Oxy-Gas torch • Operation Rigid 535 pipe machine • Fit copper fittings • Bolt-up flanges • Sweat copper • Take off for 4” standard 45° butt-weld • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. • Must be able to effectively work in a hot and noisy environment. ______________________________________________________________________________ Education and Experience Requirements • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background questionnaire. • Referral must provide documentation to support qualifications. • Insuring quality and completeness of work as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for Customers’ needs when complete. • Must have a High School Diploma or GED or 5 years relevant experience. Requirements • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge. • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire). • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner. • Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas driver’s license. Special Knowledge and Skills Required • This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship. • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test. • Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance. • Must pass Asbestos physical and be able to wear a respirator as needed. • Will insure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for Customers’ needs when complete. ______________________________________________________________________________ Physical Requirements • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. • Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position. • In good physical shape/condition for climbing in and out of tight restricted working areas, as applicable. ______________________________________________________________________________ Preferences • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred. ______________________________________________________________________________ Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. Job Title: Pipefitter Company: United Trades of America Location: Houston, TX Job Description: United Trades of America is seeking experienced Pipefitters to join our team for a key project in Houston, Texas. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, and maintaining piping systems for various construction projects, ensuring all work complies with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: • Assemble and install pipe systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required specifications. • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the layout and installation procedures for pipe systems. • Install and maintain pipe systems for heating, cooling, and industrial purposes. • Inspect work sites, measure, and mark pipes for cutting and threading. • Test pipe systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other equipment. • Collaborate with other team members, such as welders and project managers, to complete tasks on time. • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations. Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pipefitter in the construction or industrial sector. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. • Familiarity with pipe materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC) and installation techniques. • Strong knowledge of safety guidelines and OSHA regulations. • Ability to work independently and in a team setting. • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. • High school diploma or equivalent; pipefitter certification is a plus. • Valid driver's license.
