Shift - 2nd shift 3pm - 11pm Pay - $35.09 Job Summary: • Primary function of this position is to lay out, assemble, install & maintain pipe systems, pipe supports & related hydraulic & pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, & industrial production and processing systems as required for new construction or maintenance, applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints. • * Will receive instructions, blue prints & work orders for the job. Will set up working procedures & calculate dimensions and material requirements for piping. • * Plans & schedules machinery installation and repairs to avoid interfering with plant production. • * Follow lock out tag out procedures. • * Set up & operate various pipe cutting, bending & threading machinery. • * Install various types insulation & pipe coverings; removes and disposes of old coverings in line with the company hazardous waste procedures and EPA & OSHA requirements. • * Makes hydraulic pressure test of piping installations. • * Checks & adjusts controls, gauges, & valves. Inspects & maintains facility piping systems, heating, refrigeration, & air conditioning systems, water treatment & sewer systems and burners and heaters. • * Keeps up-to-date records of piping systems and controls in company layout manual. • * Posts records of safety checks and inspection dates of assigned equipment. Will perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Must be able to read blueprints & piping schematics. • Must have welding experience. Secures pipes to structure with bracket clamps and hangers using hand and power tools. Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks. Loads transports and unloads material tools equipment and supplies. May assist in lifting positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation. Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment. Respiratory protection is common and may be required. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Perform other duties as required.
