Job Description: Plumber Location: Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Albany GA Job Type Full-time Work Location In person Work Hours The Government's regular working hours are from 0700-1600, five days per week, Monday through Friday, except observed Federal holidays. Some overtime will be required for emergencies. Job Summary The Plumber will install, maintain, and repair sanitation units, water and gas supply lines, heating systems, and associated fixtures and appliances in residential, commercial, and industrial structures at MCLB at Albany Georgia. The Plumber will design and inspect plumbing systems, perform diagnostics, and ensure compliance with regulatory codes. The role requires leadership of multiple plumbers, quick and efficient troubleshooting, and strong technical skills. Duties/Responsibilities • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders. • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc. • Repair gas/water utility lines and drainage that serve applicable appliances (dishwashers, kitchen equipment, fireplaces, etc.). • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean. • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures. • Carry out regular maintenance and installation of plumbing systems, addressing issues such as plumbing system cleaning, cracks, damages on pipes, wear and tear of pipes, grease and soap build-up, and toilet repair. • Inspect previously installed plumbing systems to ensure functionality. • Apply current safety regulations and requirements for various plumbing systems. • Follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections. • Manage a work log and keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites, providing documentation regarding the plumbing system. Education and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required. • At least five (5) years of related plumbing experience required. • Good working knowledge of water supply, heating, and ventilation systems. Special Qualifications/Requirements • Must be able to successfully pass a federal background screening and drug test. • Licenses: If required in the state of Georgia, provide a copy of completed plumbing licenses. Helps to troubleshoot systems and interject corrective actions as needed to meet customer needs. Works with plumber to analyze factors that affect efficiency and effectiveness and ensures systems are operating according to specifications as well as OSHA and other regulatory bodies specifications. • Performs inspections as required by plans or codes.
