Requirements: • 10-15 years of hands-on pipefitting experience in commercial and healthcare settings. • Strong knowledge of healthcare and mechanical piping systems. • Hold welding certifications, and competent in brazing, soldering, press-type, and medical gas • Proven experience leading crews and managing field operations. • Master Pipefitter certification (or a clear pathway to obtaining it). • Willingness to pursue additional training and certifications as needed. • A can-do attitude, with the ability to problem-solve and perform under pressure. Duties/Responsibilities: • Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves. • Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications. • Gathers equipment and materials for the job. • Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes. • Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering. • Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems. • Complies with safety regulations and codes. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience: • Successful apprenticeship that included classroom and on-the-job instruction in pipefitting or related field is preferred. • At least 3 years of on the job experience pipe fitting preferably in a shipyard.
