Performs routine maintenance and repairs on hospital equipment and services such as plumbing fixtures, hot and cold water piping lines, gas lines and drainage system for hospital, medical gas system, to include vacuum pumps and medical air pump system. Records results of work on the computer work order system and documents time and material use of each work order. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or director. Performs repairs on plumbing equipment and medical gas equipment, monitors plumber apprentice program. Installation of new piping to include pressure piping, gravity piping and air lines to current code. Conducts test and verified piping systems including sprinkler and medical gas systems. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on plumbing and support equipment. Performs welding, brazing and cutting tasks. Maintain safe and clean working environment. Maintain inventory supply. High school diploma or GED is required. Current Alabama master plumbing license or journeyman card in plumbing and gas fitting. Medical gas certification available. Prefer two years plumbing in industrial or institution setting.
