The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing PV Photovoltaic Solar electrical systems while adhering to the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. Duties • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with NEC standards. • Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and power tools. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems. • Conduct low voltage and high voltage installations as required. • Perform renovations and upgrades on existing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively on construction sites. • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project completion within timelines. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications • Proven experience as an electrician in both residential and commercial settings. • Strong understanding of electrical systems (relating to PV solar systems), including low voltage and high voltage applications. • Familiarity with NEC codes and regulations is essential. • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents related to electrical installations. • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment effectively. • Previous construction site experience is highly desirable. • Frame carpentry or maintenance person experience is a plus but not required. • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
