Adjunct Instructor (Construction Trades Technology)

LOCATION: Utqiaġvik, Alaska DEPARTMENT: Academic Affairs REPORTS TO: Dean of Academic Affairs WORK SCHEDULE: Per Semester/Course Contract COMPENSATION: $1,150 to $1,725 per credit, determined by education credentials Iḷisaġvik College is rooted in the ancestral homeland of the Iñupiat. SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Adjunct Instructor teaches one or more courses within the Construction Trades Technology (CTT) division, specifically Electrical and Plumbing (no more than 7.5 credits per semester). ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Prepares and maintains updated instructional materials, course outlines, and curriculum. • Develops and submits current syllabus, using the college template. • Prepares administrative documents, such as student withdrawals and attendance. • Evaluates student performance and submits grades to the registrar. • Maintain office hours (in-person, telephonically, or online). • Participates in professional development as necessary to be proficient in the college’s current technologies and learning platform (Empower and MyCampus). • Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances. • Performs other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Demonstrated professional and/or teaching experience in Construction Trades. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment. • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel or PowerPoint. • Demonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary environment. • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development. • Demonstrated experience with distance delivery. • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check. • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational work experience; North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions and organizations; Iñupiat culture, language, values, and traditions. • Ability to interpret and represent College actions and western institutions to the North Slope community. • Ability to support Iḷisaġvik College’s mission. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Required]: Has attained the following: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Journeyman status with five years of recent related professional experience or equivalent qualifications. • One year of related professional industry or post-secondary teaching experience. • Certified NCCER Instructor or have the ability to become a certified NCCER Instructor within 90 days. • Valid driver’s license. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Preferred]: • Journeyman status with five years of recent related professional experience or equivalent qualifications or NCCER Instructor Qualified in Plumbing and Electrical. Admissions Representative

Position Description About the Admissions Representative Role: We are looking for sales applicants that live in Alaska! If you are energetic and have admissions sales experience, we want to hear from you. The Admissions Representative (AR) is responsible for handling all types of inquiries received by the college which include telephone, direct mail, and Internet. This admissions department process will require a proven ability to control a call in a professional yet conversational tone building relationships with prospective students. Additionally, this position requires the generation of personally developed leads through current students, outside resources and referrals. The AR must have the ability to meet goals, multi-task, prioritize duties and exhibit excellent communication skills both written and verbal. An important component of the AR’s job is identifying and enrolling qualified students who are likely to graduate. Job Qualifications And Skills • High school or equivalent (Required) • Bachelor's degree (Preferred) • 2 years minimum work experience in a sales calls related environment. • 2 years minimum work experience in Admissions Representative (Sales) • Must be able to work effectively in an indoor, fast-paced, sales center work environment. • Ability to work under pressure and respond with urgency to business and customer needs. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties. • Exhibit excellent communication skills both written and verbal. • Working knowledge of remote interpersonal communication techniques, technologies, tools, and resources. • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, database software and use of Internet. • Required to be punctual, responsible, ethical and a team player. • Varied shifts Monday - Friday - 8:00AM-5:00PM, 9:00AM-6:00PM, 11:00AM-8:00PM Saturday - 8:00AM-5:00PM. Duties And Responsibilities • The Admissions Representative will also be responsible, but not limited to, the duties and tasks listed below: • Adhere strictly to accrediting agency and U.S. Department of Education guidelines for proprietary school admissions. • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Admissions manual and established by the campus and/or company. • Follow Admissions Code of Conduct. • Participate in all orientations if at a campus. • Conduct high call volume in fast-paced environment. • Listen and create rapport to identify opportunities for prospective students’ education and career development. • Use established phone scripts for both inbound and outbound calls. • Schedule admission interview call appointments. • Conduct admission interviews over the phone, in person, or by video. • Enroll qualified applicants. • Conduct scheduled follow-up procedures with both enrolled and non-enrolled prospects. • Enter all tasks and notes into CampusVue daily. • Track incomplete enrollment files to ensure deadlines are met. • Attend all Admissions and staff meetings. • Complete required quota of inbound and outbound calls daily. • Schedule required quota of appointments daily. • Generate required quota of personally generated leads.
