Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician - Onshore (Travel required)

A Snapshot of Your Day In this role you'll be responsible for the construction, commissioning, and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa and / or Senvion wind turbines at one of our potential Wind Turbine sites in the US. Although this position will have a home wind farm site, it will also be part of a mobile team that supports three other sites as needed. Provide excellent service to our customers, analyze and react to people in stressful hazardous situations. How You'll Make an Impact • Contribute to the improvement of new and updated field procedures and standard methodologies. • Ability to work inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of 300 feet. • Ability to think clearly and maintain composure during stressful and or hazardous situations is a critical to success in the position. • Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions. • Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm. What You Bring • High school diploma or equivalent is required along with 4 or more years' experience. A College degree or equivalent competency in a field related to the work of a wind farm technician ie: electrical / mechanical systems is desirable. Various combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. • Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position. • Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently. • Hands experience working with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters. • Experience interacting with customers at various levels of responsibility within their respective organizations. • Traveling (up to 95%) to customer sites within and outside the US is a requirement of the job. Must be eligible to hold a valid Passport and Driver's License. The Substation Engineering Leader will be responsible for leading a team of Substation Engineers for all NEER and FRP substation activities from conceptual design through construction and commissioning execution. Duties & Responsibilities: • Lead a team of Substation Project Engineers that oversee the Engineering Scope of NEER Greenfield and Brownfield Substation Engineering projects: • Execution of assigned substation tasks from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution). • Securing engineering consulting resources from a list of approved suppliers by developing a scope of work, securing bids, evaluating, and awarding work through NEER's Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Group. • Coordinate with other project stakeholders to develop and secure a substation site, support any engineering updates, data and permits necessary to design and build the substation. • Coordinating the engineering deliverables including scope of work documents, Issued for Bid, Issued for Procurement, Issued for Construction, design criteria and As-built drawings. • Coordination with other groups to ensure that the assigned E&C substation projects are successful.
