Purpose and Scope SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The essential function of the position within the organization is to perform skilled sheet metal fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair work on District properties. Essential Job Functions This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the primary job elements. 1.Performs skilled sheet metal fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair work to support the maintenance of District facilities. 2.Reads and interprets blueprints and other drawings; assists in estimating and planning project materials, costs and labor requirements. 3.Installs and/or assists in the installation of sheet metal in duct work, gutter systems, kitchen facilities, HVAC systems and other physical plant components. 4.May drive and operate trucks and other vehicles; operates various hand and power tools as necessary to accomplish tasks. Minimum Qualifications The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four (4) year related experience.
