The Role: As a Sheet Metal Laborer, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced Journeymen while gaining practical skills in the fabrication of, installation of, and maintenance of commercial sheet metal systems to include, ductwork, hanger supports, and equipment. Through this work you will learn the foundational elements of: • Basic Blueprint Reading: Understanding drawings and specifications to accurately design, fabricate, and install sheet metal systems. • Sheet Metal Fabrication Techniques: Cutting, measuring, bending, and assembling sheet metal components using hand tools and power tools. • Installation Skills: Basic techniques for installing ductwork, vents, and other sheet metal components. • Tools and Equipment: Proper use and maintenance of hand tools and power tools. • Safety Practices: Proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. • Teamwork and Collaboration: Effective collaboration with team members and the importance of clear communication on job sites.
