Production Technician Sheet Metal Operator

Position Summary The Sheet Metal Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining sheet metal fabrication equipment to produce high-quality components according to specifications. This role involves interpreting blueprints, using hand and power tools, and ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently met. Key Responsibilities • Operate sheet metal machinery such as press brakes, shears, punch presses, rollers, and CNC fabrication equipment. • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings. • Measure, cut, bend, and form sheet metal to required specifications. • Perform routine machine setups and adjustments to maintain accuracy and productivity. • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances. • Maintain a clean and safe work area, following company safety protocols. • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines. • Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading sheet metal stock. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred). • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude. • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety. • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Preferred Skills • Experience with press brake, punch press or laser cutting machines. • Responsible for quality including first piece and in-process inspections. • Identify and understand tooling, fixtures, and fixture components. • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices. • Prior experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Proficient with hand tools, measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures), and fabrication equipment. • Trouble shoots problems by using problem solving techniques. • Work with a sense of urgency • Desire to learn new skills • Meet basic standard production rate and continually improve efficiency. • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instruction. • Ability to work flexible hours as needed including job rotation and/or overtime. Work Environment This position requires working in a manufacturing/production environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required. Monday - Friday - start time flexible 6am, 7am or 8am. Rare partial Saturday morning. 40+ hours per week

Sheet Metal Installer

Description Job Summary: Alliance Group is seeking a Sheet Metal Installer based in South Burlington, VT to join our growing Install team. The Sheet Metal Installer will be responsible for performing installations, routine maintenance, and inspections on a variety of commercial HVAC and related mechanical systems and be experienced in working with sheet metal. Individuals must demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as an aptitude for problem solving, time management, and customer service. Key Responsibilities • Accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and diagrams, and other specifications • Measure, mark, cut, and/or modify sheet metal and other fabricated duct systems using hand or power tools as needed • Fabricate and install sheet metal products and components for HVAC ductwork and other sheet metal related products • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to sheet metal installations • Install sheet metal duct, duct supports, and hangers meeting building code requirements and job specifications • Safely and skillfully utilize sheet metal tools and equipment • Coordinate and order sheet metal materials for projects • Complete As-builts and create RFI’s as needed • Maintain open communication with the Project Manager, General Contractor(s), and other crew members to ensure timely project completion and compliance Essential Qualifications and Competencies • Minimum 4 years of experience in sheet metal preferred • Valid driver’s license required • Rigging certification preferred • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings • Understanding of commercial HVAC systems desired • Knowledge of Build-Ops platform desired • Strong interpersonal communication skills • Ability to work efficiently • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills • Strong attention to detail • High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion, and integrity • Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving skills • Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team play • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) • Must maintain a company vehicle • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis • U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory • Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license. • A background verification and motor vehicle check will be required. • A pre-employment post-offer Human Performance Examination is required for this position.
